Eye exams can "save your life"
06.11.2008

The importance of having eye checks has been highlighted in a newspaper article.
Tracy Cairns" life was saved when she went to her doctor with a suspected eye infection, the Daily Record said.
When antibiotics did not clear it up, she was referred to an optometrist for an expert opinion - and was told the infection was a side effect of a cancerous tumour in the white of her eye.
The tumour had not spread and Tracy is well again after her treatment. She has praised the expert help she got from the optometrist.
Optometrists should be the first place people go with an eye problem, the Daily Record added.
