Facebook application reminds about contacts

People can get a convenient reminder about when they need to restock on contact lenses - from Facebook.

Pharmaceutical company Johnson and Johnson, makers of contact lenses Acuvue Dailies among others, has launched the application on the social networking site this week.

"You"re busy. We get that," their Facebook page says. "That’s why Acuminder is the perfect reminder tool to help you keep track of all the little details that life throws your way."

Users can create reminders using the application and can even send it to their friends via the normal Facebook channels.

Acuminder flags up when it is time to change lenses, purchase new lenses and schedule an annual eye exam reminder.

The reminders can be received in the Facebook newsfeed or via an email.

Cheap contact lenses can be purchased on the internet and are a cost and time-effective way of purchasing them.
